At The Children’s TLC, we view each child holistically, meaning we consider the whole child—physically and psychologically—in our therapeutic treatment. To that end, new and emerging research has made us keenly aware of the significant impact of a child’s dietary habits, and exercise, on his or her mood, behavior, function, and overall health. For children struggling with learning and developmental issues, and for those diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, and childhood obesity, research shows that imbalances often exist that can be addressed through appropriate dietary strategies, targeted nutrient supplementation, and support with implementation. Nutrition is just one component in a system-wide campaign to rebuild brain and body connections and see overall improvement. At The Children’s TLC, we are here to help you with this very important aspect of your child’s overall health and well-being!
The Children’s TLC’s focus on whole foods nutrition is the underpinning for family nutrition counseling. We’ll work with the parent responsible for shopping and preparing the family’s meals, assessing your child’s current nutritive status and identifying possible deficiencies and imbalances. If a specialized diet is recommended (i.e., gluten- or casein-free, or other), we’ll help your child and family transition to a new dietary program—at your pace.
Medicaid Family-Directed Funds may be used for nutrition services. Please contact your Support Broker or Case Manager to arrange funding allocation.
